For a lovely ride, head to the village of Montoire-sur-le-Loir (15 km from the campsite) and set off towards Lavardin (12–14 km return). And before you set off again, don’t forget to treat yourself to a well-deserved gourmet break!

Welcome to Vendôme, a City of Art and History! It’s a great place to explore in a day, combining cultural heritage with a leisurely stroll. Start in the historic centre with the Abbey of the Trinity, then head up to the ruins of Vendôme Castle to enjoy the views over the town. Continue with a stroll through the streets and squares of the town centre (including the Porte Saint-Georges), before taking a break by the banks of the River Loir to enjoy a spot of nature. And in the late afternoon, round off your visit with a visit to the Saint-Jacques Chapel.

A one-hour drive away

In the Perche Valley, walking routes alternate between wooded countryside and charming villages. Here, you can walk at your own pace! At 60-70 km

If you’re going to go the extra mile, don’t miss out on the hidden gems of the Loir-et-Cher… Set off to explore the châteaux of the Loire Valley! The Royal Château of Blois is the perfect place to start: a treasure trove of history in the heart of the town, with architecture that reflects several different eras. Continue on to Chambord, impressive for its sheer size and grounds, which are also perfect for a stroll in the fresh air around the château. Finish with Cheverny, a more intimate and elegant château, prized for its remarkably well-furnished interiors and its grounds, which are ideal for a family visit.

As well as its legendary motor racing circuit, Le Mans is also a City of Arts and History! Discover the Cité Plantagenêt, the medieval heart of the city: cobbled streets, historic houses and an ‘old town’ atmosphere, ideal for exploring on foot. Continue on to Saint-Julien Cathedral and the Gallo-Roman ramparts, then, after a lunch break in the city centre, head to the 24 Hours of Le Mans Museum. In the late afternoon, enjoy some fresh air at the Arche de la Nature or along the River Sarthe, and round off the day with dinner in the city’s lively neighbourhoods.
